The Productivity Council's research programme includes projects such as the Macro-Productivity Indicators Project.

The Macro-Productivity Indicators Project was implemented in 2003 as a policy intervention, jointly sponsored by the Central Bank of Barbados , the Barbados Statistical Services and The  Productivity Council. Initially, it focused on the development of a measurement methodology for productivity, a survey instrument to capture data on output, compensation, unit labour cost and labour input hours within the Tourism and Manufacturing sectors.
